Life Strategists are Educated & Trained

A Life Strategist is educated and trained in the professional care of individuals having emotional, thinking or behavioural problems that interfere in day-to-day activities and/or relationships. They are registered mental health professionals who are held to high ethical standards of practice by an accredited, governing body such as the American Psychological Society, the British Psychological Society, and others.

The Life Strategist’s primary role is to help clients live a healthier, happier life. They do this by using evidence-based methods to help clients tackle everyday situational or incidental experiences that lead to anger, fear, hatred, sadness, verbal or physical altercations, self harm, crying, destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviours, anxiety, and other mental, emotional or physical sufferings. They are figuratively a shoulder to cry on, a warm embrace, and a confessional for clients’ guilt, shame or indifference.

Life Strategists are More Than a Coach

A Life Strategist is different than a Life Coach. Anyone can be a Life Coach regardless of their education. Life Coaches typically do not have degrees and are not affiliated with a governing body. Alternatively, Life Strategists usually have multiple degrees in various areas of psychology and other fields. Life Strategists can work with anyone, even those with serious psychological problems such as attempted suicide, severe depression, delusional disorders, etc.

A Life Strategist’s clients seek help when talking to family, friends or associates isn’t enough to resolve their mental, physical, or emotional suffering. Regardless of the situation or incident and whether it’s related to housing, legal matters, work, personal relations, death, marriage, school, children, young people, adults, personal goals or health, a Life Strategist is the answer for uncovering the sources of grief and developing skills to manage difficulties and achieve the best life possible.

What to Expect from a Life Strategist

A Life Strategist meets you at whatever stage of life you are in. Their standards of practice are non-judgemental, helpful, kind, and compassionate professionals. They will work with you to:

  • explore the situation or incident causing discomfort,
  • dig into the past and explore the present to understand the source of emotions, thoughts and behaviours,
  • identify factors of protection that minimises the impact of hurtful situations or incidents, and
  • help set reasonable goals linked to measures of success.

To get started, the client decides on a time and date to meet with the Life Strategist. Living Room ConVo in particular offers services via secure online video chat platforms. To select a Life Strategist, click here to view our personnel.
